Last Day!

My conclusion to Game Design is that it was fantastic even with a few bumps! Overall my expirience was quite positive. I can't for Game Deign 2!

Guild Wars 2, Just some of the Awsomeness from it.

Back into Guild Wars for now...

Yes, I'm getting back Guild Wars! One of the best skill-based PVP games out on the market today. MMO's these days PVP have gotten out of control with balancing issues, lack of content, and only a selective few classes/powers that make the pvp in the game... It's quite sad and it just keeps getting worse. I am very dissapointed at this time at most MMO's PVP systems. But Guild Wars has gotten worse, but not nearly as bad as all the other games.

Star Craft II: Wings of Liberty

This RTS (Real Time Strategy) looks quite impressive. I HATE blizzard, but I like their RTS's. I plan tobuy this RTS jus tfor the fact it's rare for an RTS to look awsome in my eyes. I shall try this and then rate this like a true gamer!!!

Math...

Math is useful up to a certain point. By certain point I mean it loses all logic and there is no basis even for an architect. I don't see how some things could ever be used for math logically. Somethings in math are so completely random it seems as if a 5 year old thought this up. Lee loves math, and is a tutor, but I will never share his love. For math that is. LOL. The many things about MATH is that me going for a B.S. in graphics design will only be useful to a certain point. Even if I take coding it'll be a very specific way. So in an aspect I only maybe at the most have to learn 1-3 different things before I'm back to BASIC math for me to become a Graphics Designer...Life, it's more complicated than what it really should be.

Job Searching

So far New Martinsville has no such thing as an available job, even though they have hiring signs up. The funny thing is when I go in for job application I see some kids from high school, and a couple from college and see them working at one of the places I put an application in and I know I have better overall work ethic and grades than them and some how they get the job over meeven though I actually put the application in when they did...It's a sad little world out there *One random tear drops to the ground*

Nc Soft Bought the Copy Rights for City of Heroes 2!

The greatest MMO I played for 5 years, and still on going is more than likely creating a newer/more updated version with all new technology to make a fresh start to get players to start playing again! Good Luck Nc Soft best wishes not to screw up this version like you did the last!

Myanimelist.net...

I have reccently made an account on the listed website above and it's so awsome. If this website was a social networking site like facebook and myspace instead of just for people who like anime I think I'd be better than facebook haha. It has a few minor set backs like you can only have 1 default picture and it won't let you have an album to hold your picture to change your default picture. I could not have stumbled onto a betetr anime list site :D.

3d dot Heroes

Look up this game when you have time. The creators are Atlas which are, in my opinion very impressive game developers.

Paper Prototype...Finished!

A Paper Prototype is a gist of information created into basic steps on paper, computer, or video. A paper prototype represnts hows your video game is supposed to work. My teams paper prototype first started out by introducing the "Loading Screen", which followed into the title screen. After the title screen we show the option to select "start" or ""options". We went into "options" first to show the customizable "sound options" and then it leads into the games "button layout". We then give a fast option to go back to the "start menue" which then introduces the storyline after hitting "start". After the storyline we gave an example of the battle scene/game play at the end of our prototype. The team and I are intrested in YOUR ideas so feel free to drop us some mind-breaking suggestions! Here is our Paper Prototype below.

SlimEvolution Paper Prototype

We are currently working on the "scenes" where we present the animations of the story board. I'm not to sure what we need, but it seems as if we just need paper, a pencil, and scissors. Our title screen will be a scientist holdings a blue slime in 1 hand, and a pink slime in the other. Our loading screens gonna be "clutch" (Badass) which consists of Fists flying across the screen and make fist bumps the explodes in to our team name "But the Dean said no". After our team name appears we'll have a slime start climbing our team name like a stair case and then fall to it's doooooooom! We are currently working on our battle scenes, layouts, and etc. I'll have to get back to you guys on the games, but I assure you, you will be amazed!

Slimevolution!!!!!

OMFG It's Slimevolution the BEST GAME EVER! BUUUUUUUUUUUUT, it's not yet created sadly. Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be an evolving slime with elemental powers! This game will be a must play! Playing a slime lit on FIRE is just insanely AWSOME or a slime that is TOOOOOOOOO BLUE from using the element ice! OMG I'm freeeeeeeeaking out man about this SLIME idea. Oh god I feel a mental break down NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Anime

I shall tell you my story with ANIME! I've been watching anime for a very long time. I don't like to admit being obssed, but I will have to contridict myself. It's to say I have watched at least 150 or more different animes. My favorites are Last Exile, Soul Eater, 07 Ghost, Welcome to the NHK, Hell Sing, Clannad, Tower of Druaga, Kenichi the Mightiest Diciple, Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin, Kaze No Stigma, Full Metal Panic, Saiyuki 1st Season only, Get Backers, and Aqaurion. I have watched many more but I those are currently my favorites. I've probably left out some of my tops due to overloading my memory wit hso many different animes. Let me know your favorites i'm intrested in knowing.

Sorry I haven't "Blogged" much!

Reason being why I haven't blogged a lot this week was due to playing White Knight Chronicles. I really enjoyed this unique game. The battle system is works like an MMOG in my opinion. It has a regular attack system, but you can actually make your techniques into macro like combos. The Graphics are really amazing! The character customization wit hskills and character looks are very detailed and well thought out. The leveling is slightly slow paced but thats why you get side quests. Only thing I didn't really like is how your created character doesn't play a part. More or less your character is just in the game because you created him for only that purpose haha. The story line was really well thought out but as I said your character hardly plays a part if any in the story line. Leonard (Apparently the main chracter) reminds me of a naturally good natured person. The developers could have easily made the created characters play a good part in the story. For example, they had voices you could choose from which could follow a script with what ever voice you have choosen. All you would have to do is make a story line program whatever voice the user picks and make their mouths move to the script and it would be peachy. Other than those problems the game seems quite promising and long!

My Favorite Game Genre and MMOG's!

My favorite types of video games are MMOG's (Massive Multiplayer Online Games). I have tried pretty much every big time MMOG and some low end ones. My favorite big time MMO is City of Heroes/Villains. My favorite Low-End MMO is currently S4 League or Megaten Online. City of Heroes/Villains isn't for everyone. I like COH/COV, because of its customization and PVP even though the developers screwed up the PVP, I'm hoping for the best by them fixing this major issue. S4 league is a shooter MMO thats fast paced and based on your ability to aim well. Megaten is a very unique game. In Megaten the goal of the game is to tame monsters and combine your monsters to create more powerful and cooler monsters haha. I haven't tried the pvp yet in this game nor I have played this game for awhile. The PVE is simple, but yet fun and addiciting. I dislike World of Warcraft for many reason if you were wondering why I didn't include WOW in my favorite MMOG's. My first reason is WOW's player base isn't very smart and think they are amazing when they are very terrible. Second people who think they are amazing at pvp on that game don't understand the concept of how the game's pvp is based off of who has the better armor than skill. Skill plays a very small part in this broken pvp system. Last, but not least I will say I like the arenas and wish mor egames would have arenas like WOW's or even a Battle Ground mode. I really hate how all the new MMO's are dissapointing by being very similar to MMO's before them... I am VERY sick of playing games like every other mmo where you just get skills with different names and thats it. Aion was NOT the first MMO with aerial PVP by far... City of Heroes is not based off of an aerial PVP game but still has it. I have now got myself venting so I'm going to stop before I make my teacher wait a week before I'm done. ^^

Lol @ my Ideas!

To start things off me and my partner kept changing our idea and mixing our ideas together. The main problem we had was making a game educational. I'm quite sure a lot of people have this same problem. We mixed some of our ideas to what became a basic square with a customizable character platforming in the square while dodging a ball with a randomized path. The main goal of the game would be to get the shiney numbers before the ball you were trying to avoid killed you. You can jump off walls, get new shoes to make you run faster, jump farther, or higher. The levels get harder as you get higher into the levels like adding plat forms, elements to the environment, and more to keep the intrest in the game. We more or less ditched this idea for a "Survival of the Fittest" genre. I am not sure hows this is going to work out, but I'm sure we'll pull through!

Game Review 2

I'd like to start out by saying "Climate Change" was unique, but there was information lacking. By information I mean I don't wanna rely on a bar to know if its a good decion even though thats what its mainly based around. I just think you should include more of a description on what the each "economic" choice has to offer besides looking at a bar. If this game doesn't really require that much indepth detail then it's pretty easy. It's fun though don't get me wrong, I really think more detailed choices would be better.

Game Review 1

Hello, I just tested some of the other students from my Game Design Class and my favorite game was "3rd World Farmer". This game was a life simulation genre. It was based around a random generator of how good your crops and cattle does. Personally I think it was all luck due to the fact that the most odd "harvest season events" happen. For example: My other friend started out on turn 1 and put like 3 different forms of crops and they all died due to the random event simulator which left with enough money to have 1 crop. Even though his 1 crop was successful he lost profit from it somehow lol. I would limit the "effects" of the random event generator until like around lvl 15...I dunno how many levels there are so I'm just taking a guess. Graphics seemed fine in my opinion. All and all I had fun.

What do YOU like video games to have?

I like hearing about everyones opinions of what they want so I may one day invent a video game that majority of various "gamers" would like. I believe it's impossible to create a game that no one hates, but strongly believe I can create a game that A LOT of people can like!

Thanks! Torp.

Game Design Ideas

Hello, I'm currently taking a Game Design course and searching for various ideas for people who take an interest in 2D video games powered by FLASH. This is my first blog post so I'm currently new to this and find the idea of "blogs" to be a great idea! I find taking random peoples opinions VERY helpful for making a good game regardless of the genre.

Thanks, Torp.
